Water plays an important role in our daily lives. It is a life giver. Scientific theory suggests that life on Earth originated in water because it is where the most interesting chemistry happens. All living creatures need water to survive so it is likely that the first life on Earth was formed with it.
Yet even when 70% of the Earth’s surface is covered in it, the supply of clean, safe drinking water is inadequate to accommodate the masses. In fact, most of the world’s population need to walk at least three (3) hours to fetch water for their consumption without considering if it is safe or potable.
In the Philippines alone, some of the Filipinos rely on unsafe, unhygienic and unsustainable sources of water such as polluted rivers and lagoons. Families spend significant amounts of time and energy in collecting and fetching water for their day to day use. Because of this, Mactan Rock is on a mission to provide and deliver clean water throughout the country.
Communities in Aparri, Cagayan, Puerto Princesa, Palawan and Guiguinto, Bulacan are some areas where Mactan Rock has recently installed water treatment plants. These facilities solidify the company’s goals on providing quality, and safe drinking water nationwide. The water provider is expanding its partnerships with Water Districts and Local Government Units. Together, they are able to reach more communities that would benefit from this program.
To ensure that water is clean and safe before it arrives the tap in households or industries, it undergoes various types of treatment to remove sediment, bacteria and other impurities. Moreover, Mactan Rock uses innovative, state of the art technology to make affordable water that the low wage earners can still enjoy.
