Water Treatment Plant Blessing and Ribbon Cutting at MEPZ 1 and 2

Lapu-Lapu City – The hard work of Mactan Rock, a manufacturer of Water Treatment Chemicals and Equipment, has paid off after finishing up another Water Treatment Plant at MEPZ 1, Pusok Lapu-Lapu City producing 10, 000 CMD and 3,000 CMD of potable water at MEPZ 2, Aboitizland, Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.
At exactly one o’clock in the afternoon on June 2, 2017, a blessing presided by Rev. Fr. Mar Alingasa, SVD kicked off the event, followed by the ribbon cutting ceremony. The ribbon cutting ceremony was led by Mactan Rock’s Chief Executive Officer Engr. Antonio P. Tompar, the board of directors Mr. Lito R. Maderazo, Mr. William A. Maceren, Mr. Anastacio Muntuerto, and Mrs. Teresa T. Tompar, alongside Mrs. Lorna A. Gallego, Senior Manager of DBP Mandaue Branch. This was followed by the ceremonial drinking of water by the CEO and the board of directors in the presence of Mactan Rock staff and guests.
Ma’am Prexie Tompar welcomed the guests and the attendees with her opening remarks. The CEO, Engr. Tompar, gave his heartwarming message to the attendees and distinguished guests composed of the General Managers, Directors and various company personnel of MEPZ 1 and 2. Engr. Tompar announced that they are expanding their water distribution in Lapu-Lapu City to cater huge industries in the manufacturing, industrial, commercial and tourism sectors. “Since desalination is high (in) cost . . . Mactan Rock here create this plant dedicated to the nearby companies to make it accessible for them.“ he said.
Mr. William Maceren added, “Brackish or groundwater is depleting so desalination is the future. We (Mactan Rock) are the future.”
After which, all of the people listened eagerly as the overview of the project and its process flow was discussed by Mr. Iovanni Tomabang, Production Manager of Mactan Rock.
Shortly, the attendees shared snacks and refreshments prepared by Mactan Rock. Everyone enjoyed the event with a full stomach.
